		<description>When I went in to the Army I had trouble doing push ups so after the first P.T. Test I started doing push ups when ever I had time to kill I.E. waiting in line for what they called chow or waiting to sign out my weapon. I continued to do this even after basic and a.i.t. when I got to my first post I would also do this during work hours...needless to say that is a lot of push ups (I&#039;m not even counting morning PT) well one morning I was performing our daily clean up well it was my turn to clean the laundry room and while pushing a broom my chest just tightend up like some one had clenched it. Well I feel over with my hand grabbing my chest just as my buddy who was a medic walked by,he called post ems and i was rushed to the e.r. after all the tests came back negitive for a heart attack they asked my about my daily routine they were shocked to hear how many push ups I was doing in a day.
It was over well over 1000 sure my chest looked great but at the same time the muscles in it just got to strained and that was my bodys way of telling my enough.I was told no PT for six months.
The moral of the story is having goals is fine but dont over do it to reach it. I can still max the PT Test even at 40 but I no longer push my self to the point of breaking down.</description>
